Aronow coaches 2009 Rutgers University mock trial team to nationals

For the first time in the history of the Rutgers University’s Mock Trial Association, a team has advanced to the Nationals and has a chance to qualify for the National Championship Tournament. Rutger’s A-Team competed at the St. John’s Regional and finished tied for seventh place, out of 27 teams. By way of a strength of opponents tiebreaker, Rutgers was forced to wait for an open bid. As the team was at near the top of the open bid list, nationally, it was just hours after the competition ended that the team received news of its bid.

With strong performances from each of its team members, the A-Team competed against an even stronger field than it did at Fordham. Mock Trial Association members, Meg Kosovich and Jason Moreira earned top witness awards, while President Meredith Neely earned a top attorney award. All substantial achievements for a program that did not exist just four years ago.

The A-Team will be competing at the Easton, Pennsylvania Opening Round Championship from March 13th to the 15th. The team has been practicing hard and is well-prepared for the competition.
